2. Make sure to preheat before putting the food in.

This may seem like a given to a lot of you, but some people like to put the food in before it's properly preheated. This can lead to the food not cooking correctly. This is due to any water on the product soaking into the food instead of evaporating (since it's hot enough to melt the water but not quick enough to get get rid of it quickly). Fortunately, the air fryers that we have on sale all all preheat very quickly, usually in three minutes or so!

3. Give the basket an occasional shake.

This is especially important with smaller foods, such as french fries. This way they are properly mixed up and allowed to fry to a nice crisp thoroughly. We our store finds it best to shake it up every 7-10 minutes or so.

4. Some foods may require a little cooking spray.

If you're about to fry or cook something that appears very dry, it may just get even dryer. Also, it won't cook right without just a little oil in the air. A spray of cooking oil can ensure that it cooks correctly, as well preventing the food from sticking to the basket.

5. The food has to be relatively dry though!

I know what you're thinking, you just said not to keep it dry! We just mean that it can't be literally soaked or marinated before putting the food in the air fryer. You don't want it dry but you also don't want it wet for best results.

6. Don't forget about the other cooking methods that an air fryer provides!
